Fast CAT Camps

On select evenings, Dog Sports Unlimited holds Fast CAT Camps at our facility in beautiful New Smyrna Beach, Florida.

Starting in February 2024, DSU will offer two different types of Fast CAT Camps.

Introduction to Fast CAT

This camp is for those owners and dogs that do not have any prior experience participating in Fast CAT events.

Camp description

Fast CAT Training Camp

This camp is for dogs and owners that have previous experience participating in Fast CAT events.

Camp description

Whether or not you are trying to rack up AKC titles, letting your dog run free of all restraints for 100 yards is an exhilarating experience for your dog. For a brief moment they are completely consumed with their natural instinct to chase an object in motion. It truly is an uplifting experience to watch your dog chase the lure down the track. It doesn't matter how fast they get down the track, just knowing they are totally wrapped up in the moment is worth all the effort involved in making it happen.

What better way to give your dog a special night out then to bring them out to DSU and let them burn off some of that pent-up energy. Give your dog something to look forward to. Bring them out to the track and let them connect with their inner dog. You'll have a blast and your dog will love you forever for doing it.

On camp nights our gates open approximately one hour prior to the camp start time. Check our Track Schedule for more details.

Since the camps happen at night (for the most part) it's best to wear light colored clothing and bring some bug spray. The track is lit but a flashlight could come in handy if you go wandering around some parts of the property. There are benches located on site but it wouldn't hurt to bring a chair.

Since the dogs will be making multiple runs during the camps, they're going to get thirsty. We do have some hoses where you can get water from. Bring your dog's water bowl. Glow in the dark collars are a good way to keep track of all the dogs.

We ask all participants to sign up in advance for each camp date they wish to attend. This will allow us to manage the events better and communicate to the attendees when we have to cancel a camp due to weather and/or reschedule one. We are also limiting the number of dogs that will be allowed to participate in each type of camp. Newbie Camps will have no more than 15 dogs and Training Camps will have 40. Additionally, the maximum number of dogs one person can enter is 3. We understand that many of us own more than one dog that enjoys Fast CAT but we also want to make it possible for as many people as possible to be a part of the camps.

Thanks for the great response to our Fast CAT Camps. We look forward to seeing everyone and their dogs having fun at the track at our next camp.

*** CANCELLATIONS ***

Be sure to check the status of the Fast CAT Camp prior to driving out to our facility. Weather in Florida can be hit or miss. It might be nice where you are but it can be pouring rain where we are.

If a camp is cancelled, that information will be posted on the DSU facebook page. Make it a habit to check our facebook page periodically for cancellations and other important announcements.
