About the Event

The West Volusia Kennel Club is hosting their annual dog show at the Volusia County Fairgrounds this coming September and in conjunction with the show they are offering 6 Fast CAT events. Two events will be held each day, starting on Friday September 20th  and running through Sunday the 22nd.

Registration will begin each day at 8:00 AM and dogs will start running shortly thereafter. We stop running dogs at 4 PM (if there are still dogs in the queue we'll keep going until they've all had an opportunity to run). 

Fast CAT is a two person operation. You need one person to catch and one person to release. If you are all by yourself, let us know when you check in. If we have an available volunteer, we can help you out. We don't always have extra people so please try to have a buddy but we will help if able.

These events are run concurrently rather than consecutively. Having concurrent events provides a lot more flexibility as to when you can run your dog. We understand that ring times happen when they happen and they can sometimes get in the way of making a morning or afternoon Fast CAT event. With concurrent events, you can run your dog twice in the morning or twice in the afternoon. All that is required is a 30 minute rest between runs. Of course, you may have to wait longer if there are a lot of dogs ahead of you. We hope running the events this way will help more people participate in the Fast CAT trials.

We will be accepting advance registration up until the 13th via mail and up until the 17th via online. The fee is $25 for advance registration and $30 day of the event. If you are entering via mail, don't forget that you need one form per dog per event entered.

If you plan on entering the day of the event, you can speed up the process a great deal by having your entry forms already filled out. If you don't have entry forms filled out in advance, keep in mind you will need all your dog's pertinent information in order to complete the entry form.


If you register a dog online, you can register for one or all events at the same time without having to fill out the dog's information more than once. We're trying to save trees and make your life easier at the same time! Here's how it works:

  1. Buy the appropriate number of tickets based on the number of events you will be entering your dog for.
  2. Click the "Checkout" button.
  3. Enter all the required information for the dog being entered.
  4. Make sure the number of events entered matches the number of tickets you bought.
  5. Click "Get Tickets"
  6. You will need to enter your payment information to complete the sale.

You will repeat this Process for each dog you enter in events. Bring all your tickets for proof of purchase.
