About the Event
This weekend of Fast CAT events is brought to you by the Great Dane Club of North Central Florida and the German Shepherd Dog Club of North Florida. Each club will be running one event each day.
Time to get one more weekend of Fast CAT events before the Florida summer arrives.
The event numbers are:
Tickets for these events can be purchased in advance through this website or you can fill out the form found on the last page of the premium and mail it to the address indicated on the cover of the premium.
Fast CAT is a two person operation. You need one person to catch and one person to release. If you are all by yourself, let us know when you check in. If we have an available volunteer, we can help you out. We don't always have extra people so please try to have a buddy but we will help if able.
Since this is an AKC event, all rules governing the trials are in effect. No dogs are permitted to have prong collars, choke collars, or electronic collars on the track our on the grounds where the trial is being held. We ask that you follow these rules and make sure your dog is not wearing one of these three types of collars. If you have a dog that is difficult to handle on a flat collar or harness, our staff can show you tricks on how to use a flat collar and leash more effectively for dogs with high energy.
Also keep in mind that each dog must be inspected prior to every run it makes. The inspector is near the check-in tent so make it a point to head there first when you're ready to run. AKC rules require an inspection prior to each run. We have to make sure the dog is not injured or in heat. If you should ever notice that your dog is limping or showing signs of distress, you should not run them. In these cases you will get a full refund. We don't want any dogs getting hurt so let's play it safe.
We will be accepting advance registration via the website up until the May 21st. The fee is $25 per run.

IMPORTANT CANCELLATION INFORMATION
Weather is always a factor when we're doing outdoor dog sports. Please check the Dog Sports Unlimited Facebook page prior to coming out to get cancellation notifications when weather might be a factor. Just because it's not raining where you are is no guarantee that it's not raining where we're at. Significant rain the night before can be a factor as well so check our Facebook page before you make the drive to New Smyrna Beach.
