DSU's Fast CAT Introduction Class for Beginners is a full TWO-hour experience designed to give both you and your dog the confidence, understanding, and hands-on practice needed to enjoy this exciting sport. Class size is limited to 15 dogs per session, and owners may enter up to 3 dogs per session. Here’s what you can expect when you attend: WHAT TO BRING TO CLASS Two Leashes Water for your dog Optional treats or motivators Comfortable walking shoes Bug Spray A camera to capture those excited moments For owners attending without a second handler, a DSU team member will gladly release or catch your dog. ARRIVAL and CHECK-IN Plan to arrive 15–30 minutes early so you have time to check in before class begins Upon arrival, proceed directly to the Registration Tent to check you and your dog in DSU's Fast CAT Introduction Class for Beginners Learning & Track Time (2 Hours) 30 MINUTES OF LEARNING The first 30 minutes of camp are dedicated to learning to ensure you have the necessary information to feel prepared and confident. This is where the excitement begins and where dogs discover their love for the chase! Track Practice Includes BUNNY INTRODUCTION Dogs are introduced to the “bunnies” (lure) to spark interest and excitement. DOGS RUN THE TRACK Step-by-Step Guidance - Our team works with every dog and owner at a comfortable pace to set them up for a successful chase. By the end of camp, your dog may have a brand-new favorite cue “Tally-Ho!” It’s the magic word that signals the chase is about to begin… and trust us, they’ll love it.
